At home we freeze almost all the waste after cooking vegetables. Roots skinks, leaves, ugly (but eatable) part of the vegetable when we have a reasonable amount we use it to make broth.
Exactly the same with meat and specially bones. We keep the bones after roasting which give a better taste and it is really healthy.
We buy fruit in market and sometimes is too ripe o we buy a lot because is in season. We make jam and compote, it cannot be easier. We also freeze to use when is not in season, we make all kind of desserts, smoothie and delicious fake ice creams.
